8th November 2023 - GREAT WEEKEND EVERYWHERE FOR TIM’S HORSES

It is always nice to look forward to a big weekend of competition and expectations are always high, but rarely do you have weekends like this…

First winner to do their thing was Wild Planet who won the Rosehill Gold Cup on Saturday for team Hawkes. He has been a wonderfully genuine horse who has now amassed over $1.5 million dollars in prizemoney with seemingly more to come. His next race is in The Gong, worth $1 million dollars.

Less than half an hour later… Tom McDermott and Cooley Gangster do what they always do and that is win. This time it was the Grand Prix at the Australian Jumping Championships. Thrilling to watch Tom and Monkey in action with plenty more to come after his breakthrough season in the big time.

Sunday was probably the most exciting day I have ever had on a racecourse. Grebeni won the Goulburn Cup and has now qualified for next year’s Big Dance worth $3 million dollars. Plenty of fun to be had before then though. He now heads to the same race as Wild Planet, The Gong on Saturday 25th November. On Sunday there was a truckload of Grebeni supporters who arrived on course to show their support and it was just a great day. The directors and committee of the Goulburn Cup kindly welcomed us to the marquee and a great time was had by all.

18th September 2023 - THINK IT OVER BACK IN ACTION

It was fantastic to see Think It Over (Sid) make a winning return to the big time on Saturday 16/9 at Randwick. Sid spent many months at the farm rehabilitating and was a perfect gentleman always. He has a huge character and the whole Limitless Lodge team got a major kick out of his success. Kerry Parker and his team were wonderfully supportive of what we were doing at the farm and they gave us total freedom. Also congratulations to Nash Rawiller on a top class inch perfect ride to make it happen.

12th September 2023 - JUMPERS AND EVENTERS ON FIRE

Horses bred, produced, bought and sold by Tim are winning everywhere in both hemispheres recently. With such good video coverage of most events around the world now it is fantastic to watch the horses in action. In recent weeks Tom McDermott and Clarke Johnstone are in serious form on horses Tim owns.

Clarke Johnstone in England has been riding two of Tim’s former rides and achieving great results. Menlo Park who Tim won Melbourne CCI3* L in 2019 and Sydney CCI3* S in 2019 before being sold to Clarke who has produced wonderful results every time he goes out and culminated in a win in Ireland CCI 4* L at Kilguilkey in August 2023. He has just won again at Cornbury International Horse Trials in England in September 2023.

Tim has retained ownership of Sparky Lad who is now competing successfully with Clarke at 3* level. We have known Sparky since his racing days with Chris Waller and have followed his career til we were able to take over the ride of him in 2020. He is now flying through the grades and is a genuine international top level eventer in the making. He has just won Cornbury International Horse Trials in England in September 2023 with a stunning performance. He is a proper thoroughbred and very proudly Australian bred.

Tom McDermott has recently won the Tamworth World Cup Jumping qualifier on Cooley Gangster in August 2023. Tom has done a terrific job with this horse and this is just the latest of many wins. Tim purchased him in Ireland and brought him back to Australia but it soon became apparent that his forte was in straight show jumping. Tom is the best and most prolific rider in Australia by far and Tim has a business relationship with him already so it was logical to give Tom the ride. He is heading for the World Cup final hopefully.

Gleneagles was recently sold to Shane and Nikki Rose and has produced great results eventing in Australia already. This is a very good horse with a huge future in the right hands. Tim bred him and will follow his results carefully.

Springfield was also bred by Tim and has been recently sold to Kenya Wilson in Western Australia who has already won on him with much more to come.

8th September 2023 - THOROUGHBREDS IN MY LIFE

As we head towards the Equimillon event in early Cctober it has made me think of all the wonderful thoroughbreds that I have had the pleasure of competing and the stories behind the photos. My very first horse after Paddy the pony, was Parkview Lad. He got me started eventing and I eventually won Kooralbyn CCI** and was selected on the Australian Young Riders Team. He was a beauty.

My next top horse was also a Thoroughbred. His name was Waratah and I was fortunate enough to develop a fantastic relationship with him. We won many Advanced events together and were chosen on the Australian World Championship Squad 1994 to travel to Europe.

Grand Armee came into my life by chance. I was teaching at a clinic at Avondale Pony Club and ran into Alan Bell who asked if I would take on a horse to event. I was hoping it was Grand Armee and it was. As I am a major racing lover I was very aware of his exploits on the track and couldn’t wait to get him home. He was a seven time Group One winner and he turned out to be a very successful horse. He won and placed up to 2 star international level.

Over the years I have sold many horses around the world and people always came to Australia searching for our Thoroughbreds. These are some of the horses I had the pleasure of competing and selling.
